Keep an Eye on Braking Performance

We’re all starting to see some wet weather out there, so it’s a good time to make sure your brakes are operating as designed. As a diesel pickup, your truck has the best braking package available for your brand due to its increased weight and towing capacity. Depending on how you use your vehicle, you should include a brake system check as part of your regular maintenance.

Keep in mind, some aftermarket wheel and tire packages can reduce braking effectiveness.

This is why it is so important to know how your vehicle reacts to brake pedal input, and to road conditions. The extra awareness of knowing the condition of your brake pads and rotors can go a long way in providing confidence that your truck will stop, in time, when it needs to. As a rule, whenever your wheels and tires come off the vehicle (such as during tire rotation), check the condition of your brakes.
